Teaching Children to Read

A friend called just last week and asked for reading advice for her friend whose son is struggling in reading. I modified a presentation I developed a year ago for our kindergarten parents titled “Teachers & Parents: Working Together to Promote Independent Readers” and thought that someone out there might find it useful. As with all other links, you can access it by clicking on the title. Please let me know if you’d like anything clarified.

Laura Robb is our resource of choice.
Her recent book called Differentiating Reading Instruction. Robb shows me and my students how the facts are there for thinking, analyzing, and creating new understandings- which so far I have found rewarding.
